Job Title: Assistant Merchandise Planner
Location: LS11 5AD
Description: This role is within the newly formed Merchandise Planning Team in Home & Leisure Trading. The purpose of the role is to ensure commodity items are managed to a high level in terms of maintaining availability, optimum stock levels and efficient flow of stock through the business to ensure we avoid unnecessary markdowns, drive sales performance to the max and support in delivering optimum operational efficiency. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in merchandising. Closing: 20.07.10.
Responsibilities: - P & L Accountability
The primary accountability in the P&L is to support the delivery of the Stock Plans and clearance markdown. You also have a core responsibility to support delivery of Sales and Profit plans
- Planning
Under the guidance of your Merchandise Planner you will be accountable for planning and delivery of the next seasons range for your given product category within Critical Path timelines through:
Analysing performance
Support the Merchandise Planner in building financial plans
Creating the offer
Estimating and production planning
- In-Season Trading
Post launch of your range, you will be working closing with your Merchandise Planner and Supply Analyst to optimise the performance of the range through:
Running Line Cards to plan and forecast future demand and place orders to optimise performance
Analysing weekly/ monthly performance and all levels of the hierarchy
In-Season trading actions (including exit management and promotional planning)
Financial re-forecasting
Requirements and Qualifications: - A proven track record in merchandising
