The Product Management Team is responsible for developing from concept to launch. We have complete ownership of product from a development, technical and quality perspective. This role sits within the Bakery Product Management Team in ASDA Brand Food Team. |
| Responsibilities: |
Accountable for product development and ongoing improvement of products from initial product concept through entire product life cycle, ensuring that all due diligence requirements are met and that ASDA suppliers adhere to technical and quality standards.
Strategy - Responsible in conjunction with the buyer for setting the range and product strategy based on customer need.
Product - Ensure that products are developed to the best quality for our customers, are landed successfully and that ongoing quality and technical standards are maintained. Work with the buyer to ensure products / ranges are commercially viable. Work closely with the bakery coaches to ensure all development can be effectively delivered by in store bakeries
Suppliers - Development of strategic supply base with buyer. Identifying which suppliers to grow, hold, decline and those which are at risk. Manage the supply base through supplier reviews in conjunction with Category Technical Managers and/ or buyers. Responsible for range construction ensuring customer needs are met and products are in line/ better than the competition.
